  • Pre Modern History
  • Modern History, and
  • English as an Additional Language or Dialect (ESL).

The Humanities Faculty embrace diversity by offering students a chance to discover the world around them and the nature of the people with whom they share the world. These disciplines also offer students the skills needed to communicate clearly and effectively with that world. Further, the Humanities faculty supports studies in students' first languages through the Open High School and the International Baccalaureate.

Humanities students embrace opportunities to use their knowledge in community service campaigns, primary school visits, writing competitions, debating, speech competitions, Model United Nations and overseas trips to China and Japan. Humanities teachers value learning in helping students succeed through our HELP tutorials, our literacy initiatives and units of work which push students to delve deeper and more critically. Further, the different levels for languages and EALD allow language teaching and learning at a level appropriate to student ability.

The Humanities faculty pursues excellence through challenging courses across the disciplines. Students have the opportunity to engage with work at a high level and explore complex and thought-provoking texts through literature, History, Philosophy and LOTE. Further, the International Baccalaureate program is offered in English, History and languages, ensuring that an international standard for excellence is a point of reference in all our work.
